About Us

Wilson Horses Inc. is the family of Shane Wilson, wife Cody, kids Shane Jr. &  Demi. We have a band of about 4 broodmares. Every year we breed them to the best stallions we can. Our goal is to raise high quality performance horses for cutting, working cowhorse and reining events.

Shane has been the stallion manager at the Polo Ranch in Marietta Ok. for the past eleven years. He is an accomplished   saddle bronc rider who has won numerous rodeo titles, including being the North Texas High School Assn. and also Texas High School Saddle Bronc Champion in 1980. He also worked as a jockey, riding both Thoroughbred and Quarter Horse race horses. He now enjoys raising nice horses, breaking colts and riding cutting horses.

Cody grew up on the east coast at C. T. Fuller's Willow Brook Farms, where her father Dick Herr, was the stallion manager for twenty-eight years. Willow Brook was the home of the legendary stallion Joe Cody. She trained reining horses for fourteen years. She currently is a stay at home mom who is learning to ride cutting horses.

Shane's father Abe Wilson has raised horses for thirty years. His family is very involved in the Quarter horse industry. Two of his sons Shane and Ryan both work at the Polo Ranch. Abe's brother Eddie Wilson owned Doc's Prescription and hand picked Snapper Cal Bar as a yearling for his son Merritt. Merritt went on to win the 1984 NCHA Non Pro Futurity, 1985 NCHA Open Derby multiple Aged Event Finals and over $250,000 in earnings before selling Snapper Cal Bar. Snapper Cal Bar went to Italy where he became a leading sire of performance horses. Merritt Wilson is a cutting horse trainer with earnings of over one million dollars. Merritt's older brother Stacy also trains cutting and roping horses. Another one of Abe's brothers Con was the breeding manager at Slate River Ranch.
